Apple formally won’t enable the tethering of an iPhone into your Notebook or PC so the laptop can use the 3G link for connecting to the web. Fortunately, you can avoid this limitation by “jailbreak-ing” your telephone and installing the PdaNet program. Here’s the incremental procedure of tethering Emus4U that an i-phone into a notebook.
Step 1: Have a Jailbroken iPhone with i-OS 3.1 or later. Mine appears to be 3.1.3
Step two: Use the Cydia program in your telephone ot download a program called “PdaNet”. Just perform a search on it.
Step 3: You can either change between your own phone and laptop using wi fi or by means of the USB cable. I find the USB selection for somewhat more rapid personally and may be less vulnerable to problems. You need applications to operate on your Mac or PC however. You can download the PdaNet client software for Windows, or Mac OS X:
Step 4: Connect your i-phone for your PC or MAC with the iPhone USB cable.
Step 5: Establish the PdaNet app in your iPhone.
Measure 6: In your Mac or PC, start the PdaNet client program and select “Connect”. It is going to take a matter of moments your i-phone display should eventually exhibit “Connected” and then start ripping the KB in and outside.
You will then be linked and might use your laptop to surf the world wide web, check email along with VPN.
Bear in mind that PdaNet is free for 14 days. After there the free version will “begin obstructing secure those websites ( sites that need log in)”.
That’s all there is to it. Now you can use your tethered iPhone to laptop Internet connection anywhere you’ve Edge or perhaps 3G coverage.
